Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus to the item's base stats. This bonus scales based on the rarity and level of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components can make your weapons and armour better. You can locate them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in item-spheres. Sets

A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and the upgrade will increase the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item or set piece will give it an increase of +1 to its primary stat. Following upgrades, primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats increases randomly.
