Inspection (1000 hours)

If the wear pads are worn down to 6 mm (0.23 in) or less, they should be replaced. If the contact surface is more than 6 mm (0.23 in) thick, the upper wear pads may be rotated 180° to extend their useful life. Note: If the wear pads are rotated, the grease nipples must be replaced.

Dismantling

1 Park the machine on firm, level ground,

with the parking brake engaged, the transmission in neutral,

and lower the loader arm to the ground.

2 Set the carriage fully to the end of travel A, as shown in the center position for clarity.

. 3 Lower the bucket and remove the weight from the kingpost.

4 Stop the engine, remove the starter key and

operate the control lever to drain any residual hydraulic pressure.

5 Unlock the upper locking tab B and loosen the nut C.

6 Remove the bolt D from the slot in the rail E.

7 The hydraulic clamp F and washer G remain in place.

8 Remove the plate J and wear pad H.

9 Install the wear pad H, plate J and bolt D.

10 Install the new locking tab B and install the nut C.

11 Sideshift

- Set the Hydraclamp clearance as described in Hydraclamp Clearance Setting.

12 Repeat steps 5 through 11 for the bottom clamp. The only difference with the bottom clamp is that it has a wear pad on the opposite side of the rail from the top clamp, so bolt K does not need to be completely removed. NOTE: If the wear pad is pinched between the rail and the carriage, lower the bucket to relieve the load on the wear pad.

13 Raise the bucket and set the carriage at the opposite end of travel and repeat steps on the other side.

14 Once all clamps are assembled, recheck the hydraulic clamp clearances on all clamps.
