WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
