Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Usually objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be put in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, excluding inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from earlier versions. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

If an item is leveled out and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the type of item it is. If an item is not able to reach its max level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will result in lower chances of success.

Engineers employ a level to compare the height of the building with an established location, such as an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to an extremely high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength, damage, or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item upgrader. Rerolling can be costly and should only be used in very rare instances.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item upgrader mod. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier to roll. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that boosts the power of the item by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you improve a product, the greater the chance of receiving the bonus of a different kind.

The game also includes various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending lots of money.

Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and advance in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can be different sizes, have no elements, or only contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some are not. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own many weapons or armor pieces already.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own special functions that can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to the level of the tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can enhance their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the Best item upgrader as well as the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
