Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as eth titans aren't affected much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For example the addition of the suffix Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from previous versions. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each Best item upgrade can only be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several items.

This will allow the item to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it is reset to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the type of item it is. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials, though it will have less chance of success.

Engineers will use a level in order to compare the height of the building to a known location, such as the benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial part of the game that can increase an item's damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be done via the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another similar item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This could be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that increases the item upgrader's power by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are rolled over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also has a number sets that give a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on a unit. This is a good way to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling can give players a faster route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in various ways. They could be of various sizes, have no elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

There are a range of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets with the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the stats of the item upgrader mod when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs which can be useful in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to par with the levels. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
