The CEO of subscription based social media platform OnlyFans has revealed that the company has paid out $20 billion to its creators since its inception in 2016.

CEO Keily Blair was speaking on Thursday at the Bloomberg Screentime conference in Los Angeles, California, when she revealed the incredible figure.

The company, which is based in the UK, relies solely on subscriptions, pay-per-view events or tips for its online creators, with a large portion creating adult content.

Blair said: 'Porn is free on the internet. think the reason why people pay for OnlyFans is because they want to engage with those particular creators.

'It's because of the ability to customize as well as to ask for a specific content.'

She continued: 'Everyone assumes it's sexy content. Some of it sexy content  and we're very happy with that, we're an inclusive platform, and we're that way for a reason.

'We believe it's very important for adult content creators to have a safe space, to be able to monetize and also to be able to do that alongside other content creators.

'We're all adults, we're all grownups, we can all choose what content we subscribe to.'

According to a regulatory filing last month seen by Variety, the site had reported record revenue and profits for its 2023 fiscal year.

Payments made through the online platform had jumped 19 percent from $5.55 billion in 2022 to $6.63 billion last year.

The number of registered users on the site also increased 28 percent in the fiscal year to a total of $305 million.

Blair commented on these figures during the conference, saying: 'Yeah, it was a good year', adding that the company does not have plans for a public offering.

Since the company started to take the internet by storm, celebrities from all walks of fame were quick to launch their own accounts.

Stars including Carmen Electra, former Disney Channel star Bella Thorne and Sopranos actress Drea de Matteo have all taken to using the site.

While she was initially reluctant, vegascrestcasinos.net she revealed in February that her racy uploads proved so lucrative that she managed to save her home from foreclosure within just five minutes of joining.

'It saved us,' she told DailyMail.com exclusively. 'OnlyFans saved my life, 100 per cent. I can't believe I'm saying that, but it really did save us.'

Tearing up, she continued: 'Anybody that wants to condemn me and put me down, go for it. I just hope you never find yourself in the position I was in to take care of two little kids.

'It saved my home of many years that was very important to us. And beyond all that, it has given me enough money to start up and finance ULTRAFREE.'
